WASHINGTON, DC. – On March 1 the Jane Haslem Gallery will open two new exhibits:

The City Lights: Urban Portraits and Landscapes and Katja Oxman: Inner Places.

The City Lights: Urban Portraits and Landscapes is a group show featuring
many artists from the gallery including Peter Milton, Nancy McIntyre, Jim
Sundquist, Moishe Smith, Phyllis Seltzer, Karl Schrag, and others. These
artists all find inspiration in the city, and in the people and buildings that
they find there. Their prints showcase shots and scenes from the daily life
of urban spaces.

Katja Oxman: Inner Places collects many of the artist's careful, lucid stilllifes.
As Oxman arranges plants, postcards, insects and other personal
objects in her compositions she creates haunting impressions of interior
worlds. These complex prints become more compelling the longer one
looks at them, as new details come to light.

The Jane Haslem Gallery, located near Dupont Circle, is enjoying its 52nd
year of business. The gallery will celebrate the opening of these exhibits
on Friday, March 2 from 6 to 8. The gallery's regular hours are Fridays
from 3 to 7 and also by appointment.
